UT3 shows itself for Linux and Mac OS X

Posted on Friday, 19 September 2008 by daffeh, source: Icculus
Quite some time ago Epic Games announced that it would port the Windows version of the latest installment in the Unreal Tournament series to both Linux and OS X. To accomplish this endeavour they hired Ryan Gordon, also known under the alias of Icculus.

Because of the overwhelming amount of info in the last few months, or better the lack thereof, rumours surfaced that the project was put in the freezer or even being blocked by good old Microsoft.

By publishing two screenshots, one on Ubuntu and one on OS X, he now silenced the naysayers.

Looks like those that do not believe in the power of Windows will have a major FPS to play in the (distant) future.

What does FPS stands for? "instament" is misspelled, installment is the correct way.
"Looks like those, that do not believe..." I am not sure this is correct, it would not hurt to have the text checked, before published.
If we could wait a few month for news, we can wait another few minutes while the text is being spell checked.

I wouldn't shout too hard about some typos on a gaming website if you don't know that "FPS" stands for First Person Shooter.

Errors corrected btw ("btw" standing for "by the way")

Actually, I use a spell checker but it uses some kind of auto complete like word does and I can't help being distracted sometimes at work when I do this.
Also, this is my fourth language so cut me some slack if you can.

When using the word those to refer to a previous mentioned subject, the use of the comma to emphasise what that subject stands for is allowed. But I guess that was a bit unclear in this case, my apologies.

btw, 'a few month' could use an additional 's' if you don't mind.

Back on topic, as a hardcore UT fan I have to say that UT3 sucks ass. They have only gone down hill since UT 99.

The UT franchise has been butchered into EA quality games whose only purpose is being a tech demo for the newest engine its using.

Also its being sold for 10$ for the next 48 hours at gogamer.com and the game is less then a year old. Pathetic.

I dont see why ppl say this game sux. Bottom line is that it's UT2K4 with better grafx, if you liked 2K4 you'll probably like this one. However I would wait for a cheap copy, grafx is just not enough of a upgrade to justify $50+ for the game.
