I think this is going to bigger backlash then they expect. MANY people bought the game for this reason alone.

User created content has rarely been regulated like this. Why is it that people who own Spore can create replicas of IP not belonging to EA without consequence. Unless they are in someway breaking the law in their user content distribution system that is different from Spore then I don't see what good can come from a decision like this.

Not only are they hurting themselves by attaching negativity to one of the PS3's biggest games (right before the holiday season), but they are also setting up a precedent for other companies in the future when it comes to dealing with user created content mimicking IP.

I was going to buy it today, but now i'll wait to make sure they fix this, it's going against the whole point of the game. its the whole point of buying it.....

With how shitty the economy is you would have never imaged Sony to cock block their own sales like this.

Of course you could always think about something new yourself to build in LBP, so the game isn't worthless all of a sudden just because you cannot load up your Super Mario Stage 1.1 "Remake".

It's still annoying, but it doesn' ruin the game nor the editor.
