Forget prone, you'll have to just run around or stand still

Digital Illusions' David Goldfarb has updated his Twitter with word that "prone" will not be part of the game.

there will be no prone.. we tried it many times and decided it didn't feel right for the dynamic, destructible world we made

Yea, in a "realistic" destructable environment we really can't have something like the prone position. It's not like we can prone in real life, now can we?

This comes after the recent forum post by the community manager who stated that the PC version of the game would have several advantages over the console version, including... prone!

Prone- I don’t consider prone a real feature to get all excited about for the PC version, but I suppose people like you have proven me wrong. Regardless, as of right now prone is not going to be on the console version and I gave the reasons above.

Anyone that can imagine "prone" not being something that can work in a PC shooter? Hell, what have all those other devs been doing all these years!

I agree, prone filter for servers would be a great compromise. I can;t believe BC2 doesnt have this feature, it defeats the purpose of being a sniper or recon! I almost was about about to return the game! Please DICE/EA have this fixed in the next patch!!!!

I cant believe I just bought this game and it doesnt have prone. I loaded it up for the first time and was so psyched to play until I kept mashing x trying to go prone. so I thought it had been mapped to another key. nothing. lame. i want my money back. guess i'll just reinstall BF2 or maybe even 1942. seriously horrible decision to eliminate prone. i dont feel like holding the damn crouch button all day. or just standing there out in the open....

yeah thats fucking bullshit, people like to play these games becuase of the realism, in real life if you were getting sniped at, the immediate reaction is to go prone, in this game you can't do it, and its a fucking bad idea
