Spike VGA 2011 - The Winners

Posted on Sunday, 11 December 2011 by Speed, source: Spike VGA
The Spike Video Game Awards 2011 were held last night in the US and thanks to the fact that streaming was only allowed in the US and the UK, we poor people in the rest of the world couldn't watch it live. A shame and I wonder when they'll open it up for everyone.

Anyway, plenty of awards were given (as well as tons of new footage for upcoming games shown) and here's the list with most interesting nominees and winners. The winners are put in bold:

I never understand these awards. Skyrim gets, best game of the year but yet it doesn't even get nominated for either Xbox, PS3 or PC. While portal 2 gets nominated for best game of the year, then wins best PC game, just doesn't make sense to me.

It was actually a public vote rather than a panel of judges making the call. Which means that probably, "Best Game" saw more votes overall than, probably PS3+360+PC. And each audience voted differently, because votes aren't fungible.
