EA says TakeTwo is stupid

Posted on Thursday, 27 January 2005 by Speed, source: Gamespot
Hardly something we hear every day, but EA has stated that TakeTwo making a deal with the Major League Baseball Association is pretty stupid and throwing away money.
From Gamespot :

Electronic Arts vice president of corporate communications Jeff Brown said the deal is one his company wouldn't have made. "As far as we're concerned, this looks like stupid money," he said. "They are paying an exclusive price for a nonexclusive agreement."

Of course, this is something anyone would say concerning the competition...

Hmmm, I don't necessarily know how wise EA is either...sure the Madden and NCAA games have been decent lately, but they're no competitor to the GTA series, that and Max Payne scored some good money. This deal is kind of foolish, but I'm sure if Take Two puts they're minds on it, they could probably score a moneymaker just like Midway will with their new Vegas game.
