nVidia drivers blow up your vidcard

After plenty of StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty beta players started experiencing technical difficulties, people were quick to point towards Blizzard Entertainment for the issue, but some investigation has cleared the company and found the one to blame: nVidia's 196.75 drivers.

Apparently this version has the great feature of overheating your graphics card to the point it melts down when playing games:

We're getting reports where users are getting intermittent low FPS after installing these drivers. It seems that it is related to the fan control included in these drivers not working correctly and is causing the video card to overheat on 3D applications. This will affect Warcraft 3, World of Warcraft and StarCraft 2 Beta. Please uninstall the drivers and revert back to the older ones
