Ocean’s Eleven

Ocean’s Eleven is a remake of the 1960’s movie starring Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Junior.

This time George Clooney plays the role of the charismatic Danny Ocean who gathers 10 of his old buddies to do one last major heist. Target of the burglary are three huge casino’s in Las Vegas, all owned by Terry Benedict (Andy Garcia). When Danny finds out the Benedict’s girfriend is his ex-wife (Julia Roberts), things start to get personal.

Sound and Vision:
Except for some small amounts of grain and aliasing, the image quality is good. Same goes for the soundtrack which nicely uses all channels to give a good spread of the sound

Extras:
Quite a lot of extras on this dvd, starting with commentary tracks from director and screenwriter and one from the cast including Brad Pitt, Matt Damon and Andy Garcia. The Look of the Con gives some more information on the clothes that were chosen for the movie, and next to that there’s a featurette with some behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with cast and crew. Last there’s three trailers and some static info on the movie.

Conclusion:
Ocean’s Eleven is better than the original movie (quite an accomplishment as remakes tend to be worse) and the cast is of course one of the major plus points. The transfer to DVD has been done quite good so if you’re looking for an entertaining movie, this is one to get
