PS4 to support 4K Resolution

BGR is reporting that according to an unnamed source, Sony’s PS4 will have at least one major tech enhancement that may drive people to buy it: 4K Resolution!

Just like the company did with the launch of the PS3 and support for Blu-ray, Sony seems particularly interested in including 4K resolution support for the PS4 in order to sell more 4K Resolution TV’s:

Since 3D isn’t gaining much traction, Sony (and we’d assume the rest of the industry) is betting on 4K as a way to get consumers to upgrade their home entertainment devices. Sony is already selling 4K Blu-ray players for $200, and the company’s next-generation PlayStation 4 will indeed support 4K resolution playback as well, a source tells us.
