The Puzzle Pack of the PSN Collection for the PSP is a little known game I would think. And in a certain way this is quite a shame as for a small amount of money you get three well worked out games, eventhough there are other ways to get them. More specifically you'll find the classics Lemmings, Go Puzzle and Go Sudoku on the UMD.
Reviewing this completely is actually a bit unnecessary. After all, who doesn't know Lemmings? Just like so many years ago you get to lead the little green animals to their rescue (or doom them more than once to a violent death) through dozens of inspired and refined levels. Bridge builders, men who say no and send everyone the other way, blokes with parachutes or a shade, they're all there and the game is still as much fun as when I got to start my 386 for the very first time and typed "run LEMMINGS.EXE". On top of that the graphics are sharp and nicely get justice on the handheld. To my surprise also the controls aren't too bad although mouse and keyboard remain the best way to bring this puzzle game to a good ending.

Another unexpected positive point is the editor that expands the lifespan for the creative people (or those that like to download levels from others) amongst us. Be sure not to expect constantly to have the same quality as that of the great levels the original makers put into Lemmings.

The second game of the Puzzle Pack is Go Puzzle which in itself contains three parts. The first game is a simple Tetris clone where you have to get the colors lined up in the correct way to make them disappear. Nothing special but good for a couple of hours of fun. The second and most original part is Skyscraper where you need to climb a tower, floor by floor, by constantly following squares with the same color. It's hard to explain but more challenging and varied than you would think and again good for an afternoon of addictive gaming.

The third is one where you need to turn blocks existing of different parts until the colors match and they disappear. Add to these three, each well worked out games, some additional possibilities and you know this pack is certainly worth your money.

The last part of the UMD is Go Sudoku and I probably don't need to explain you that at all. Nine squares of each nine squares fill your screen with the numbers 1 to 9 where no number can be put twice in the same square, horizontal or vertical line. Nice here is the option for multiplayer as next to that you could just as easily use a paper version of the game if it weren't for the fact that you get tons and tons of puzzles in this virtual version to train your brain.

The conclusion is very clear. This is a nicely worked out package that offers a lot of fun for its budget price. If you like playing Sudoku, Lemmings or some other puzzle games on your PSP then you shouldn't hesitate.
