Super Monkey Ball Adventure is split in two large parts. On one side you've got the "adventure" part; a classic platformer where you need to save the world. This time, however, there are five. The five ape kingdoms are quite hostile with each other but this couldn't prevent two little apes to start some kind of Romeo & Julia affair. Princess DeeDee and Prince Abe-Abe are madly in love with each other and would like to get married.

The quarrel between the kingdoms prevents this though and it's your duty to return happyness and joy in Ape country. This is done by solving puzzles, finishing missions from colleague-apes and take on the Naysayers that have gotten rid of quiet and peace. Spread over the levels and worlds there are tons of bananas that you of course need to collect.

A classic platform game so to speak with all its fun and - indeed - less fun parts. As also in Super Monkey Ball Adventure you'll be more than once swearing on the damned camera that made you take a wrong jump, fall off a cliff or just went left while you thought you were going straight. For the rest the controls are quite alright and you'll race through the levels while being admired by a bunch of monkeys due to your splendid cornertaking.

Next to the platform part there are also a ton of minigames present in which you can for instance kick each other out of the arena, need to destroy castles, or just make sure you end first in the big Super Monkey Ball Race. It's especially these minigames that lift up the replay value of the game with their huge amount of options and high fun factor. Some deceivingly simple game modes are quite challenging and ask even from the most dedicated hardcore gamer a lot of blood, sweat and tears to finish them well.

Technically the game looks quite ok although the framerate here and there drops and the game also suffers from clipping at times. Together with the clumsy camera, which can be adjusted a bit, this results in a lot of irritation since this game requires a lot of precision and concentration. The worlds are nicely crafted but also know their boring parts and it looks like the creativity of the makers let them down at certain times.
