Summer, autumn, winter and spring are important in a human’s life. This might even become the best Sims add-on ever, if it weren’t for the included junk. Luckily some good new additions save the day.

Each season has in the Sims world its own characteristics: winter is the time of snowballs and snow angels, spring brings love in the air, summer serves for barbecues and the catching of fire flies and autumn finally provides falling leaves and eventually heaps to dive into. This is worked out quite pleasantly.

In Sims time, a season lasts five days, but they don’t switch just like that, the current season gradually changes into the next. It’s also possible to determine whether one or more seasons are to be skipped, for example when your Sims live in the desert or if you want to create a pole climate or something like that. The weather in Sims world, however, is just as predictable as in real life: it might be that spring is quite hot or that winter lasts longer than normal.

Sims aren’t insensitive to these seasons. They could catch a cold or be troubled by the warmth, with consequences. Luckily they can be warmed up with hot chocolate or cooled with lemonade. Don’t forget that, when over a certain limit, Sims can be quite annoying and thus a lot of hot chocolate or lemonade might be necessary.

For the first time Sims can really start gardening, not only in an open garden, but also in a greenhouse. Once again, the seasons are quite important. They determine the time of planting certain plants and winter is of course devastating for most plants. You’re also able to plant a vegetable garden and add its harvest to the fridge. Sims can obtain a membership of the local garden club, with all sorts of advantages and the possibility to gain prizes or money. For this weeds, insects, dryness and early frost have to be kept out of the garden.

New comforts for the Sims aren’t absent in this addition. They can for instance from now on put the remains of their meals in the fridge to eat it another time. Gifts can be given to another Sim too to improve their relationship. Concerning the new jobs: what do you think of a career as a professional gamer?

Let’s talk about the new objects now. A few things, such as the Hot Chocolatemaker and the Juicer serve some of the new functions in this add-on. Many other objects however, can be categorized as junk.
