Thief 4 coming with next-gen consoles?

According to OXM and sources from CVG, Eidos has decided to skip this generation of consoles for the release of their stealth sequel, Thief 4.

While the game is supposedly already in development for four years, still very little is known about it and the game’s website shows little more than a logo and a link to the official forum. In fact, while one dev has previously stated to having played the last level already, several members of the development team have also left the studio to work elsewhere.

The current rumour states that Eidos will be releasing Thief 4 late next year, alongside the release of Microsoft’s Xbox360 successor.

So what do you think? Additional time necessary for development to get the game really finished? Or rather a smart move to get Thief 4 as a launch title? Personally I think either option is a smart choice!
