UK Charts: FIFA dribbles to the top and scores!
Lots of new stuff in the UK Sales Charts this week, but the absolute number one is clearly EA’s latest soccer game, FIFA 13. Out of nowhere, the latest incarnation of what most will probably see as the best soccer game in the world immediately takes the top spot, making Gearbox’ Borderlands 2 and Codemasters’ F1 2012 each lose a place.
In fourth position, we find the second biggest newcomer of the week: Blizzard’s latest expansion to their mighty MMORPG, World of Warcraft, called Mists of Pandaria.
While FIFA 13 immediately scores, this comes at the expense of that other top soccer game, Pro Evolution Soccer 2013, which drops from 3 to 5, a move that’s shared by United Front Games’ (and SquareEnix’) Sleeping Dogs which goes from 4 to 6.
A bit less spectacular, but also worth noting, is the new entry of Ubisoft’s Rocksmith which proves music games aren’t completely out of fashion just yet. The game enters the UK Sales Charts new at 7 while Bethesda’s Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim jumps back into the Top10 at 8, coming from 13. That’s way better than Warner’s LEGO Batman 2: DC Superheroes which makes a massive dive from 5 to 9. The Top10 gets closed off by New Super Mario Bros 2 for the 3DS.
