UK Sales Charts: Guild Wars 2 takes over

It’s been a while since we’ve seen a massive multiplayer online game take the lead in the UK Sales Charts and it isn’t even World of Warcraft! We’re sure NCSoft and Arenanet will be more than happy to see their sequel, Guild Wars 2, take the top spot in its first week of release!

A bit less happy will be Square Enix who see Sleeping Dogs drop to second place, but that’s nothing compared to how THQ must feel with Darksiders 2 going from 2 to 6. That must really hurt as the publisher had high hopes for the game. Hopefully next week will see somewhat of a positive trend again for Death’s arrival on Earth.

New Super Mario Bros 2 and London 2012: The Official Video Game remain steady at 3 and 4 but LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes is rising up again, climbing from 6 to 5.

The second newcomer of the week is Madden NFL 13 and that comes in at 7, just above Transformers: Fall of Cybertron which isn’t doing such a great job either, falling from 5 to 8, while also Ghost Recon: Future Soldier has a dip and sinks from 7 to 9.

Remarkable re-entry in the Top10: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 which goes from 17 to 10.
