Unearthed

In New Mexico there’s a small town where ages ago a local Indian tribe suddenly disappeared. Archeologist Kale is convinced that the tribe didn’t die from starvation of drought, but that an external factor is responsible and as such he’s decided to investigate the nearby caves to find out what exactly has happened. Unfortunately, he would have done better to stay awake as his digging awakens an ancient monster that starts killing everything and everyone that moves.

Sound and Vision:
Compression errors are absent but the image is at times so dark that it’s hardly possible to make out what’s happening.

The sound does its job nicely with good use of the surround speakers but it’s nothing special.

Extras:
None

Conclusion:
Unearthed follows all the standards when it comes to B-horror movies, including all the bad ones. Daytime only lasts for about five minutes between sunrise and sundown, night takes on for ages. The storyline is ridiculously simplistic and the plot rather stupid. The acting… well, let’s say that I’ve seen better and that’s an understatement. Is there anything that might validate a purchase of this dvd? Personally I don’t see one unless you love to increase your dvd collection.
