What Happens in Vegas
Jack got fired by his boss and father and decides to head off to Vegas with his best friend and lawyer Hater to clear his mind. There they meet Joy who recently got ditched by her fiancĂ© for being uptight. The four go out for a wild night and the next morning Jack and Joy wake up in the same bed and find out that they’ve gotten married.
No problem as such as both want to get divorced but when Jack wins 3 million dollars with a coin from Joy, the two get in quite a dispute. To make things even worse, the judge doesn’t grant their divorce as he’s fed up with people coming to Vegas and marrying in the “spur of the moment” and orders that the two live together for six months while following marriage counseling before he will allow them to get divorced and have the money…
Sound and Vision:
Nothing special to be said about the image and sound quality. There’s some grain here and there but overall we get a decent transfer that has plenty of detail and overall good image. The sound has clear dialogues and uses the surround speakers for some atmospheric music but due to the type of movie you shouldn’t expect more.
Extras:
Audio commentary by the director and editor, deleted scenes, bloopers and a couple of pretty standard features that cover the usual topics. Nothing special but the stuff you expect from a dvd like this.
Conclusion:
What Happens in Vegas is a quite typical comedy as we’ve seen dozens already and at no point does it surprise. Luckily it doesn’t fail to do its job either as there are a couple of good fun jokes and plenty of romance present to please the misses. No surprises what so ever, predictable plot twists and decent acting make What Happens in Vegas a standard but enjoyable romantic comedy that doesn’t stand out of the crowd but manages to do its job and offer decent entertainment for a Friday or Saturday evening at home with the wife and kids
