World of Warcraft movie without Sam Raimi
Speaking with Crave Online at Comic Con, director Sam Raimi said he’s no longer involved in the upcoming movie adaptation of Blizzard’s MMORPG, World of Warcraft.
Raimi said that when he took on the job to make “Oz” the people behind the WoW movie decided to not wait for him to finish it as they had to “move on” and “start making it”.
“Actually, they don’t have me directing World of Warcraft anymore because when I took the Oz job, they had to move on to another director,”
“They had to start making it.”
Blizzard and Legendary Pictures are working together for the upcoming World of Warcraft movie together, while production is in the hands of Charles Roven, who’s also behind the current Batman trilogy, and Blizzard’s Chris Metzen.
None of these parties have actually sent out any word that Raimi is no longer on board, nor that he’s been replaced. So seeing as the movie is apparently in production, the question now is: who’s at the helm?
