Zack & Miri make a Porno
Zack and Miri live in a small appartment in Pittsburth and barely manage to get by. After not having paid their bills for ages, the power and water get cut from their home while they’re making themselves ready to attend their highschool reunion. Miri wants to make a good impression at the reunion in order to get together with her old flame but when they find out that he’s gay and does porn movies it looks like their situation has become more helpless than ever.
However, Zack has got a great idea to get out of their financial troubles: make a porn movie! With the help of Zack’s friend Delaney who delivers the startup money, they do some casting and finally the shooting can begin. However, when Zack and Miri do their scene, it becomes clear that the relationship between the two changes for ever…
Sound and Vision:
The image quality is decent but there’s some grain present and also the level of black could be better.
We get a DTS-HD track but don’t expect too much from it. The movie is focused on dialogue and the surround speakers hardly ever get any action. Just like the subwoofer that keeps sitting there silently.
Extras:
– Money Shots: The Making Of
– Comc Con Panel
– Gang Bang: Outtakes, Ad-libs & Bloopers
– Seth vs Justin
– Trailers
If you look at the lineup it doesn’t look like there’s a lot of extras present but don’t be fooled. The total time of the extras exceeds the movie and they’re also quite interesting. Good stuff!
Conclusion:
Zack & Miri make a porno is a pretty typical comedy with predictable plot twists and a couple of good laughs. However, the humour isn’t fantastic all the time and some of the jokes are pretty stupid and hardly to laugh about. The cast does a decent job making their characters believable but the script clearly misses some punch. I couldn’t help but feel that more could have been made from the concept but for now this movie remains mediocre comedy that is good for couples who want to have a romantic evening on the couch with a couple of laughs on the side.
Not bad but could have been a lot better.
